Body age can be different from your actual age. Why is that? This depends a lot on how you treat your body and keep it in a good physical shape.
There are several way to test your body age.
1.Reaching the floor
This exercise is fairly easy. You need to tilt your torso to the floor keeping your legs and arms straight.
Depending on your result, we can estimate your body age:
- your palms can reach the floor: 20-30 years old;
- only fingertips reach the floor – 35-40 years old;
- palms reach the ankles – 45-50 years old;
- with difficulty reach below the knee – 60 years old.
2.Plank
The path to good physical shape starts from the middle of the body. To strengthen it and the lower back in particular, there is a very popular and effective exercisecalled plank.
Try planking for 60 seconds and if you succeeded, then it’s already good.
3.Balancing
This exercise is focused on your overall body balancing. Your can do it either like in the image below or a simplified version: raising your leg 10cm from the floor. Keep your eyes closed and check the time.
Measure the results by number of seconds you managed to balance:
- more than 30 seconds – about 20 years;
- 25 seconds – 30 years;
- 20 seconds is 40 years;
- 15 seconds or less – more than 50 years.
4.Criss-cross
Strong core is one of the parameters for testing. Try criss-cross and count how many times you made it in 1 minute.
If you managed 45 times and even more, congratulations! You are in a very good pgysical form!
5.Shoulderstand
Lay on your back and start lifting your legs up till you make them straight, support your lower back. If you manage to hold this position for 40-60 seconds, this shos a very good result.
Additionally, if you can make it by moving the legs over your head, your body is as young as 25 years old!
6.Push-ups
Simple and standard push-ups can be a good measure of your body age. Count how many you can do in 1 minute:
- men till 30y.o – 30 times at least
- women till 30 y.o.- at least 15 times.
7.Arms lock
And finally, let’s lock the arms behind the back.
If you completed the exercise without difficulty, then
- you are about 20 years old;
- barely touched with fingers – 30;
- could not reach each other with their hands – 40;
- did not even put their hands behind their backs – 60.
